Neuropsychology Study Group for Children and Families
Over the last 3 years, the Barrow has
completed a study on parental perspectives of recovery after
traumatic brain injury in children. This study was funded by
the State of Arizona Department of Health Services Office for
Children with Special Health Care Needs and the BHHS Legacy
Foundation. Several research papers describing the results of
this study are being prepared for publication.
Children (and adults) with hypothalamic hamartoma are being studied
from a neuropsychological perspective to help distinguish the role
of hypothalamic dysfunction from seizure disorder in influencing
cognitive development and disorders in
personality.
The Neuropsychology Study Group is working to develop a summer
day-treatment program for children that will combine clinical and
research efforts.
